ΒΙΝΤΕΟ: Ποιος σκότωσε την "Αργυρώ" της Σάμου;

Η δολοφονία της δημοφιλούς μεσογειακής φώκιας "Αργυρώ" στη Σάμο αποτέλεσε εκτενές θέμα στην εκπομπή "Τώρα" με την Άννα Μπουσδούκου, τη Δευτέρα, στην τηλεόραση του ΣΚΑΪ.

Στην εκπομπή μίλησαν σε ζωντανή σύνδεση με τη Σάμο ο δήμαρχος του νησιού, Μιχάλης Αγγελόπουλος, και ο Γιώργος Στάντζος, εκπροσωπώντας τον Σύλλογο Αυτοδυτών Σάμου.

Εν τω μεταξύ συνεχίζεται στο διαδίκτυο η συλλογή υπογραφών από πολίτες που ζητούν την  παρέμβαση των αρμόδιων αρχών και την παραδειγματική τιμωρία του δράστη της δολοφονίας της άτυχης φώκιας.

"Η Ιστορία:

Η Αργυρώ εμφανίστηκε στην Σάμο το 2014.
Ορφανή από μητέρα, δέθηκε πάρα πολύ με το νησί και τους ανθρώπους.
Για 3 χρόνια κολυμπούσε στο Αιγαίο, έκανε ηλιοθεραπεία στις ξαπλώστρες και έπαιρνε τον υπνάκο της στις βάρκες ψαράδων.
Στα τέλη του Μάη του 2017, η Αργυρώ βρέθηκε άγρια δολοφονήμενη στην νοτιοδυτική Σάμο, έχοντας μαχαιρωθεί και πυροβοληθεί επανειλημμένα.
Σαμιώτες και φίλοι του νησιού και της Αργυρώς, ζητάμε να μην ξεχαστεί η ιστορία, η οποία δεν πήρε τις διαστάσεις που έπρεπε.
Απαιτούμε παρέμβαση των αρμόδιων αρχών και παραδειγματική τιμωρία του δράστη που κάποιοι, με τον τρόπο τους, προστατεύουν.

Why this is important:

Violent Killing of a Monk Seal in the Eastern Aegean Sea
The seal, named Argiro by the inhabitants of Samos Island, was found violently murdered far outside of its usual habitat, where it had coexisted with the local community for over 3 years.
The public's outrage with regards to the murder of this endangered species was heard from the whole of the local community, but also from the general public in Greece and aboard. This strong reaction suggests that we are finally taking responsibility for the protection of our wildlife and is the only thing that brings us hope in light of this devastating event.
Archipelagos Institute aims to bring justice to Argiro by ensuring that the perpetrators deal with the full consequences of their actions. It is not the first time that wild animals in this specific area have been murdered and the suspects are now known to local community members and court authorities.

The story behind:

Argiro, the seal, appeared on Samos in 2014.
She was orphaned very early and therefore she had a strong relationship to this island and many local people.
For three years she was swimming in the Aegean, was relaxing on our beaches and sleeping sometimes in fisherboats.
End of May Argiro was found murdered on the southwest coast of Samos, killed by a lot of stabe wounds and gunshots.
We ask all friends of Argiro and the people of Samos not to forget this cruel crime, which never got enough publicity.
We demand the intervention of the responsible authorities and the strict punishment of the offender".
