Το αεροδρόμιο της Σάμου είναι επίσης ένας παγκόσμιος "θρύλος" στο χώρο των φίλων των προσομοιωτών πτήσεων (flight simulators), καθώς έχει τη φήμη ενός από τα πιο συναρπαστικά αεροδρόμια στον κόσμο για προσγείωση!
A video compilation of 7 days at Samos Airport, including stunning approaches and close-up takeoffs of various aircraft types and airlines, was uploaded on Sunday on YouTube!
He commentates his video:
"Wow! That was like a planespotter‘s dream: Spending one week of holiday right next to an airport with one of Europe‘s most difficult approaches and fantastic low takeoffs. The best thing about it: Most of the footage is taken right from the hotel! Thanks to the amazing Fito Aqua Blu hotel for building that small observation deck. :)
Of course this compilation does not show every landing and takeoff during the week, but we tried to as many interesting clips as possible in this video. There were a few additional flights and especially many more flights of the island hoppers Olympic, Astra and Sky Express, but we only filmed a few of them... The traffic at Samos Airport is really interesting, many European holiday airlines arrive they, some of them with their latest aircraft models like the 737 MAX!
The location right at the sea with some mountains in the background and the spectacular crosswinds make Samos a really interesting airport for spotting and I would love to do some Samos spotting again one day!
